The individual in this role will be responsible for performing various functions in compliance with company and government standards to support the Quality Assurance team in the Materials & Processes Laboratory.
Essential Functions
Under minimal supervision, conducts tests and inspections IAW Kearfott and customer drawings as well as military, Federal, and Industry specifications to assure conformance to requirements.
Interprets Kearfott and customer drawings, military, Federal, and Industry specifications in order to: identify & evaluate materials; evaluate materials to extend shelf life, support Incoming Inspection, and test production lots.
Operates and/or participates with a team member to operate instruments and equipment in laboratory and /or production departments in support of above functions.
Gathers, correlates, and analyzes technical information necessary to accomplish assigned tasks using ERPS system and internet resources.
Prepares reports, charts, graphs and other documents using Microsoft Office software
Evaluates customer and industry standards with the purpose of updating Kearfott internal procedures.
Assists Quality Engineering with resolving Kearfott supplier issues. Interacts/communicates with supply chain.
Performs any other tasks as directed by Management, as time permits, to satisfy company objectives.
Perform final and in-process inspection as required
Required Skills
Must have solid communication skills, both written and verbal, across functional areas.
Skilled in Word, Excel and other software tools.
Excellent organizational skills.
Knowledge as to operation of this equipment is a plus but not required:
SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope)
SEM-EDS (Energy Dispersive Spectroscope)
FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared)
XRF (X-ray Fluorescence)
Instron tensile, compression and shear testing.
Hardness Tester
Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school preferred
Minimum 1-3 years related work experience, 3-5 years preferred
Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available.
