Facilities Maintenance Technician Full Time

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all building systems, equipment, and machinery are operating efficiently and safely. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the facility. The technician also ensures that all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Safety

Ensure compliance with all OSHA and safety regulations.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce its use.
Report unsafe conditions immediately to management for corrective actions.
2) Building Maintenance

Monitor and repair facility infrastructure including walls, floors, windows, roofs, and doors.
Maintain overall aesthetics and functionality of the building.
Respond to emergency situations such as power outages, flooding, or structural damage.
3) MHE Maintenance (Material Handling Equipment)

Maintain and repair material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, conveyors, automated systems).
Perform regular checks and preventive maintenance to ensure safety and efficiency.
Troubleshoot and repair issues that could disrupt daily operations or create safety hazards.
4) Electrical

Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems, circuits, and wiring.
Replace faulty lighting, outlets, and switches.
Ensure all electrical systems are compliant with local codes and safety regulations.
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical panels and equipment.
5) HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)

Perform regular inspections of HVAC systems and perform repairs as needed.
Ensure proper ventilation, heating, and cooling for the entire facility.
Change filters, clean ducts, and calibrate thermostat settings.
Troubleshoot HVAC malfunctions and replace faulty components (e.g., motors, compressors).
6) Plumbing

Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including sinks, toilets, drains, and water lines.
Respond to plumbing emergencies like leaks or blockages.
Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes.
Conduct regular inspections to prevent water damage and issues with drainage.
7) Carpentry

Perform minor carpentry tasks such as repairs to doors, windows, and furniture.
Construct or modify shelving, partitions, and other woodwork as needed.
Ensure all carpentry work is completed to a high standard and complies with building codes.
8) Work Order Management

Respond to and prioritize incoming work orders based on urgency and importance.
Track the progress of work orders and ensure timely completion.
Provide regular updates on the status of work orders to management.
Maintain a well-organized database of completed and pending tasks.
9) Scheduling & Outsourcing Repairs

Schedule routine and emergency repairs with internal or external contractors.
Maintain a network of qualified vendors for services that cannot be handled in-house (e.g., specialized electrical work, elevator maintenance).
Ensure that all repairs are completed on time and within budget.
Coordinate with contractors to ensure that work is done according to company standards.
10) Housekeeping

Maintain a clean and organized work environment in both public and private areas of the facility.
Ensure that common areas (e.g., restrooms, break rooms) are stocked with necessary supplies and kept tidy.
Assist in maintaining a clean exterior, including the grounds and parking areas, when necessary.
