About the Role
As a Pathology Materials Coordinator, you’ll play an important role in supporting patient care by ensuring pathology materials are handled accurately, securely, and on time. You’ll help manage the intake and release of specimens for internal and external review, serving as a key point of coordination between clinical teams, providers, and external partners.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working with systems and documentation, and takes pride in providing excellent service in a healthcare environment. The starting annual salary for this position is $42,641 and this can include a full comprehensive benefits package.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Process requests for the intake and release of pathology materials for testing or review
Track and monitor the status of material requests from start to finish
Respond to inquiries via phone, email, fax, and information systems
Ensure materials are handled accurately and in compliance with established procedures
Maintain clear and thorough documentation throughout the request process
Collaborate with internal teams to support timely and accurate workflows
Serve as a reliable point of contact for both internal and external requests

You’ll be successful in this role if you:
Have strong written communication skills and can create clear procedures, workflows, or job aids
Are comfortable communicating professionally with a variety of stakeholders
Have experience in a pathology, laboratory, or clinical office setting
Are proficient with Microsoft Office tools
Have experience working with healthcare information systems such as Athena IDX or Cerner Millennium/AP
Bring a customer service mindset and enjoy helping others navigate processes
Preferred experience:
Previous pathology or laboratory-related experience
Healthcare customer service experience
Experience reviewing resumes or creating professional presentations is a plus
