Senior Respiratory Therapist position will provide additional clinical and operational leadership within the Respiratory Therapy Department. The Senior will serve as a resource for staff, assist with daily department operations, support complex clinical situations, and help ensure consistent adherence to department policies and standards.
The Senior Respiratory Therapist will also assist with training and onboarding new Respiratory Therapists, supporting staff competencies, precepting students, and providing ongoing education to the department. This position will help improve communication between frontline staff and leadership while supporting quality improvement and efficient patient care.
Furthermore, they will continue to provide direct patient care while serving as a clinical resource and supporting the overall operations and development of the Respiratory Therapy Department.
Compensation:
Starting Hourly Rate: $40.34/hour, which includes:
Base Hourly Rate: $33.41
Geographic Differential: $6.93
The compensation listed reflects the anticipated starting rate for this position. Final compensation may vary based on the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package.
Shift Differentials – Earn additional compensation based on your scheduled shift:
Day Weekend Shift: $1.50/hour
Evening Weekday Shift: $1.75/hour
Evening Weekend Shift: $3.00/hour
Night Weekday Shift: $2.00/hour
Night Weekend Shift: $3.75/hour
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
License and Certification Requirements
1. License to practice as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the State of New York; and
2. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); and
3. Current certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in respiratory therapy or a related healthcare field; or
2. Associate’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in respiratory therapy or a related healthcare field.
