Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA, NRCMA, RMA) Full Time NEW

The Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) provides both clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in a physician office, clinic, or outpatient setting. The CCMA assists with patient care, performs clinical procedures within their scope of practice, maintains accurate medical records, and helps ensure efficient daily operations while delivering excellent customer service.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, and weight.
• Document patient medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and minor procedures.
• Administer medications and injections as ordered by the provider and within state regulations.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, EKGs, and point-of-care testing.
• Process and prepare laboratory specimens for transport.
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment and examination rooms.
• Follow infection prevention, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines.

Administrative Responsibilities:

• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals.
• Answer telephone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Obtain prior authorizations as needed.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR.
• Process prescription refill requests according to office policy.
• Maintain inventory of medical and office supplies.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or another nationally recognized certifying organization accepted by the employer.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Preferred:

• One year of experience in a physician practice, specialty clinic, or outpatient healthcare setting.
• Experience with venipuncture, injections, EKGs, and specimen collection.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
